Add UUID column [Jul 29]

🙋‍♂️ Vladimir-Va

Please add autogenerated UUID column.

By default, when you create a table, it only gives you auto-increment ID (the default one). However, you can add a column with autogenerated UUID with the following steps.

  • Create a column with Column Type SpecificDBType
  • Select uuid in Type in Database
  • Input your generation function in Default value box. Let's take Postgres as an example, one of the possible function is md5(random()::text || clock_timestamp()::text)::uuid. The function depends on the database you are using
  • Mark it as PK

After that, you can delete the default ID column. When you insert a new record, you should see a generated UUID.

I see its locked into certain types.

What I assume we need is a template when creating tables.
