# Case insensitive text queries?

Hey team - via the API, how do I enforce case-insensitive text queries? Is there a way to enable this, or is it an underlying datatype issue?

By default, we perform a case-insensitive search. To help you better, could you please provide more details?

1. Are you using the cloud or self-hosted version?

2. If you’re using the cloud version:

3. If you’re using the open-source version, please share the underlying database and column type. Additionally include the app version you are using.

Running self-hosted, and using native NocoDB backing against version 0.262.5

Happy to import the data into a Postgres-backed DB and views and see if it’s different
