# Formula to calculate age from a birthday date

New to nocodb here and still not familiar with the formula syntax, I can’t figure out a way to make it work.  
So far I have this:

```auto
DATETIME_DIFF(NOW(), {BIRTHDAY_COL}, "y")

```

This should work if BIRTHDAY\_COL is a Date type.  
When you edit the formula, does it show any errors?
