# Meta sync not completing when columns of external DB are updated outside of NocoDB

The meta sync is stuck on loading state for 1 day and the nocodb fails to load the updated table because of that.  
A workaround is to disconnect and reconnect the external data source but this results in all our ‘Views’ and other NocoDB edits being lost.

Would need more details on the changes that were done. How big is your database : tables, columns etc and what database is it ?

And is this in cloud or selfhosted?

If selfhosted : provide the logs please.

Database: MySQL 8.0.35  
Number of tables in the database: 26  
Number of columns in the culprit table: 80  
This is in the cloud
