Alternative to Google Sheets [Mar 15]

:raising_hand_man: Hioko asked

nocodb is used as an alternative to google sheets? are there any other tools for google sheets alternatives?

:raising_hand_man: Akshay replied

You could think of it as an alternative to Google Sheets. But the official pitch is that it’s open source alternative to Airtable. Airtable itself can be thought of as Google Sheets on steroids. There are some alternatives to Google Sheets that I know of.

- Nocodb

- Airtable

- Baserow

- Seatable

- rowy

Hi Akshay, thanks for your reply

any of them offers cloud/web based solution like google sheet? I would like to move my online data from google sheets to X

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

rowy: it seems needs google account

Airtable, Baserow, Seatable all provide a cloud based solution. Any specific feature that you’re looking for? I can suggest accordingly. Or do you just want them to not be Google?

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

yes, i am looking for a specific feature (i guess, which is not available with google sheets): tagging type column=multiple data within a single cell

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

(notion supports it)

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

multiple data within a single cell has two advantages= easy to enter/type & filter

Hioko@discord Checkout Airtable. It should fit your needs. They support multiple values in the same cell both via relationships as well as multi-select options.

Only drawback being they have a 1200 row limit under their free plan. Paid plans extend upto 50k rows.

:raising_hand_man: Akshay replied

Not so advanced in features but support multi-values. baserow.io https://baserow.io/ No limits on number of rows. No Google account needed.

i wished it could fulfill within microsoft/google ecosystem so that i dont need to create/manage one more account. & i believe these companies will remain in market till i leave/live.

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

checking out microsoft loop, i guess it is not yet released.

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

Nocodb kind of tools are exception for me if it is open-source/supports exports. Currently, unfortunately, i dont have any self-hosting web-accessible solution/setup.

:raising_hand_man: Hioko replied

i also came across focalboard but it doesnt support web based in a free plan
