Is there any advice team if its possible to join / append the data from multiple tables in a commen list for easy lookup into a new table field - i have 5 tables that have same schema but have bneen locagivally split as different people look after them.

You will have to combine data to create a unified table. You can use APIs to do that OR download data as CSV from the UI & upload into your unified table.
NocoDB doesn’t support Sync Table’s yet. It is in our roadmap & we expect to introduce it by end of this quarter.
