Hi @Petrogrado_1917, thanks for the details. I went back through this thread and your earlier one (Error sending email), and I think a few separate things are getting mixed together. Let me separate them so we can focus on the one that matters:
- The Docker log lines. These come from different actions: removing a user (
DELETE .../users/...), sending an invite (POST .../invitations) and a forgot-password request (POST /auth/password/forgot). The license and Redis cache lines are warnings and non-blocking messages. They don’t stop invites or password resets from working. - Inviting members. You’ve confirmed this works, so we can set it aside.
- The invited user can’t set their password. This is new in this thread now. It’s almost certainly the same issue as your earlier thread: the invite and reset emails are not being sent (
Error sending email), so the user never gets the link to set a password.
So I’d suggest we treat this as a single email-delivery problem. Based on the compose file you shared earlier, please check these:
NC_SMTP_PORT: 587withNC_SMTP_SECURE: true: For Gmail, port 587 needsNC_SMTP_SECURE: false(it upgrades to TLS on its own). If you’d rather keepNC_SMTP_SECURE: true, use port465. This mismatch is a very common cause of this exact error.NC_SMTP_FROM: This wasn’t in your config. Please add it, set to your Gmail address.NC_SMTP_PASSWORD: Gmail requires an App Password here (2-Step Verification must be on). Your normal account password won’t work.NC_SITE_URL: Invitation and reset emails build their links from this. Please confirm it’s the public URL your users open, includinghttps://, e.g.https://nocodb.yourdomain.com, and notlocalhostor an internal IP.
Reference: Environment Variables
After changing these, restart the container and trigger a password reset once. Then figure from there.
