Nocodb on namecheap shared hosting :[Aug 06]

:raising_hand_man: yakayak asked

Hello! Has anyone had any success setting up their instance on shared hosting, like namecheap? I’m trying to have the instance accessible under a subdomain (I own the root), but I haven’t had any success so far.

I used the git + npm install + nom start workflow to setup the instance. There’s no docker installed nor the possibility to install one. I passed in the subdomain as the NC_BACKEND_URL, i.e. “https://subdomain.domain.com”, but I get a 404 when going to that address. I was able to setup a MySQL database using NC_DB and it does get populated, so environment variables are getting passed.

set NODE_ENV=dev

what errors do you see ?

:raising_hand_man: yakayak replied

Ah! I’ll try that.

I’m not seeing any errors, so I’m guessing that I’m not hitting the right URL when visiting my instance.

Given the subdomain “https://subdomain.domain.com/” as my ``NC_BACKEND_URL, what is the expect path for the dashboard` page?

:raising_hand_man: yakayak replied

The 404 that I mentioned previously seems to be generated by the webhost, rather than the nocodb instance.

o1lab@discord , I see you just got back online. Any ideas on this?

Sorry for the ping - do let me know if you’d rather I don’t ping you.
